![]() If anyone would like to know how to do it, I believe there's a good tutorial on either simtropolis or sc4devotion. There's also a whole other level of map editing in SC4 that involves generating maps from data from various real world mapping sources (such as the United States Geological Survey), which is how Drunkapple makes his maps but that stuff is a little beyond me at the moment. Even for those of you who aren't interested in creating maps from scratch, I'd still highly recommend it as it wipes the floor with SC4's built in map import feature. It can be a little tricky to get up and running on certain computers but it's worth it. It's a great map editor for SC4 that I consider to be essential for map making. If you haven't heard of it yet, I can't recommend SC4Mapper enough. Create the most massive region of cities ever, with a farming town, bedroom community, high-tech commercial center, and industrial backbone. 2: Download config.bmp and the jpg of a map somewhere you know where to find the files 3: Place these two files in a new folder, located in the Regions folder where. When it comes to actually creating the elevation image, I'm afraid I can't offer much help (beyond scaling) as I've always either just downloaded them from (Drunkapple's maps are great) or found them on google and then, if necessary, tweaked them slightly to ensure that the elevation was realistic reproduced in game. SimCity 4 Deluxe - SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition includes the bestselling SimCity 4 and the all-new SimCity 4 Rush Hour Expansion Pack. This confused the hell out of me at first, but then I got around to it in the following way: 1: Shut down Simcity 4 if it's running. And feel free to share your maps with me. After that, simply open up Sim City 4 and load up your region. If however, you created the file from an empty bitmap and saved it elsewhere, ensure you plop it into this directory. It has everything you'll need to know to correctly scale your elevation map and config.bmp. If you edited it where it was created (Documents>SimCity 4>Regions>YOUR REGION, then you should be set.
